Charles "Tex" Watson was convicted along with Charles Manson and other Manson Family followers for the 1969 murders of seven people during a two-day crime spree. He was sentenced to death in October 1971, but his death sentence was reduced to life in prison after the California Supreme Court overturned capital punishment statutes in 1972. He lost his most recent bid for parole last year. He will be eligible for another parole hearing in five years.
Watson, a native Texan who turned to religion after the killings, was convicted along with Manson and followers Patricia Krenwinkel and Susan Atkins of first-degree murder for the Aug. 9, 1969, deaths of pregnant actress Sharon Tate, Abigail Ann Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Earl Parent and Thomas Jay Sebring at a Benedict Canyon home. The four also were convicted along with Leslie Van Houten of the stabbing deaths of wealthy businessman Leno La Bianca and his wife, Rosemary, in their Los Feliz-area home the next day. MORE FROM THIS SOURCE...
Charles "Tex" Watson joined the " Manson Family" in 1967, and soon became Manson's right-hand man. Family member Al Springer told police that "Charlie and Tex are the brains out there" on the ranch. In August 1969, Watson became the principal killer in the Tate-LaBianca murders. Announcing his arrival at the Tate residence, Watson said, "I am the Devil and I'm here to do the Devil's business." Watson, who now resides at the Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California, has renounced Manson and expressed "deepest remorse" to his "many victims." What a pile of crap from this dirtbag.

Mr.Warner, there is sure a lot of crime in Sarasota, Fl and the area around Sarasota. With all that crime going on down there, you can't find anything better then to bad mouth Charles Manson and the Family? Charlie thought he was going to get out last year and he called me and ask if I minded if he came to my house to stay. I told him he was welcome anytime if he got out. Wouldn't that be so cool, Charlie and I writing a book about the real facts and maybe even a movie. We would even give you a signed copy, no charge (NO THANKS NUTJOB). This is just my opinion, but you should focus more on the crime rate where you live then someone writing a book (GEE WHO IS THAT?). Now make Charlie happy and put in a good word for him-----signed THE HILLBILLY.
The Lunatic Fringe has spoken, the goofball who wrote this nonsense above is a pal of a local Sarasota "writer" who is putting out a book about how Charles Manson was railroaded into prison, he's really a "nice guy now".
