Wounded Veteran Pat Horan With Service Dog 'Wilson' Kicked Out Of Mo Aminfar's Village Cafe Centreville VA.
Wounded Veteran Pat Horan With Service Dog 'Wilson'. Capt. Patrick Horan was serving in Iraq in 2007 when he was struck by a bullet that penetrated his skull and exploded. Horan was airlifted from Iraq to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., where doctors removed half his skull, said his wife, Patty Horan."He had trouble speaking, but he also had trouble with the motor function of his mouth, just forming the words," she said.
WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Wilson is a trained service dog and helps my brother in law Pat Horan get around. While he has encountered questions about Wilson's presence, he's never been kicked out of a place, until yesterday.
Patty, is Pat's wife. They had just visited their dentist whose office is next door to the Village Café on Stone Road in Centreville. Wilson sat quietly at Pat's feet while he got his teeth cleaned. Then, they went next door for lunch. Only to be shocked at the treatment by the owner's wife.
"I tried to explain to her that this isn't just a regular pet, this is a service dog. My husband is disabled. She really didn't want to listen to any of it. She just wanted us to leave the restaurant," said Patty.
Mo Aminfar is the owner of Village Café. He told us his wife Mary didn't understand that Pat was disabled and that Wilson was his service dog, gee look at the photo above of the guy with the dog, is Mary blind? Is "Mo" short for Mohamed?
