Feb 11th, 2014 CNN's Peter Bergen reported just two days ago: U.S. officials are now debating whether to kill with a drone another American citizen who is part of al Qaeda and believed to be plotting attacks against the United States. There has been speculation but no confirmation about who the individual might be. At least a couple of other American citizens or permanent residents are known to play important roles in al Qaeda today. One name that has been mentioned in media reports is that of California-born Adam Gadahn, who for the past decade has operated as a leading al Qaeda propagandist. In 2006 Gadahn was the first American charged with treason in more than half a century. However, there is, at least so far, no public information that Gadahn has played an operational role in al Qaeda's terrorist plots, and therefore it is unlikely that he would be placed on a "kill list," unless his role in al Qaeda has changed of late from propagandist to operational planner.
What the Hell Mr Bergen, what more do you need, read on? DEAD MAN WALKING: U.S. Citizen Adam Gadahn needs to be targeted for a CIA Drone Strike in Pakistan due to his Internet presence as Al-Qaeda’s chief propagandist and inspiration for lone wolf terror attacks. The As-Sahab Foundation for Islamic Media Publication, is the media production house of Al-Qaeda and run by Adam Gadahn, it is used to relay the organization’s views to the world and inspire would be lone wolf terorists. As-Sahab “produces documentary-quality films, iPod files and cellphone video.”
The As Sahab Foundation for Islamic Media Publication (“The Clouds”), is the media production house of Al Qaeda, used to distribute the organization’s point of views, to promote the Global Jihad, to encourage young Muslims to identify themselves with the cause and to glorify Al Qaeda. The As Sahab started in 2001 under Abdul Rehman al-MAghrebi, Ayman Al Zawahiri son in law and Adam Yahiye Gadahn and Attiya Allah. Since then As Sahab distributed through Arab TV networks, such as Al-Jazeera or Al-Arabia or local Pakistani TV stations, footages and Audios of primarily Ayman Al Zawahiri, much less of Osama Bin Laden, and footages of successful attacks in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and all over the world.“This cyber-prodding is an important aspect of jihadist internet usage,” Jarrett Brachman, a professor of security studies at North Dakota State University, told ISN Security Watch. “Al-Qaeda and its affiliated groups understand the power of a strongly crafted message and see the internet as much as battle space as the streets of Kandahar,” said Representative Adam Smith, a Democrat from Washington, DC at a recent US congressional hearing.
In 2005, on the fourth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks, an eleven minute videotape message purportedly from al-Qaeda was broadcast on the ABC News program Good Morning America. The American English-accented speaker, a man whose face was partially concealed, was identified by US intelligence officials as Adam Gadahn. The speaker praised the "echo of explosions and the slitting of the throats of the infidels". He predicted that there would be future attacks in Los Angeles and Melbourne: "Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, God willing.
In a video released on March 7, 2010, Adam Gadahn called on Muslims in the West to follow in the footsteps of Nidal Malik Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter. In the video, entitled "A Call to Arms," Gadahn encourages Americans and other Muslims in the West to "prepare to play his due role in responding to and repelling the aggression of the enemies of Islam."
On June 4, 2011, Gadahn called on American Muslims to buy weapons from gun shows and carry out random, lone-wolf attacks. The video, called 'Do Not Rely on Others, Take the Task Upon Yourself', was produced by al Qaeda's as Sahab media team and shows 32-year-old Gadahn speaking alongside old clips of Ayman al-Zawahiri and Osama Bin laden. In a calm voice, California-native Gadahn tells Muslims it is easy to get weapons from gun shows and carry out random attacks.
In August 2013 American-born al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn was calling for attacks on U.S. ambassadors around the world. In a 39-minute video, Gadahn praised the death of Libya’s U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens on September 11th 2012 — and urged wealthy Muslims to offer militants rewards so they can kill others, according to SITE, a jihadist monitoring group. Specifically, he referenced a bounty set for the death of U.S. Ambassador to Yemen, Gerald Feierstein. “These prizes have a great effect in instilling fear in the hearts of our cowardly enemies.”
August 19th, 2013…Sen. Lindsey Graham Calls For Extrajudicial Killing Of American Al Qaeda Operative Adam Gadahn. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) took to Twitter to urge the U.S. to use lethal force against American-born al-Qaeda operative Adam Gadahn. In multiple tweets, Graham described how he felt the American government should handle Gadahn, who has called for more attacks on the U.S. in a recent video produced by an al-Qaeda foundation.
December 2013, Al Qaeda propagandist Adam Gadahn released a new video denouncing the capture of a top operative known as Abu Anas al Libi. In the video, titled "The Crime of Kidnapping Abu Anas al Libi and its Repercussions," Gadahn seeks to portray Abu Anas as an innocent who was wrongly detained by US forces in Tripoli on Oct. 5. 2013 Gadahn implies that Abu Anas' capture was a "Wag the Dog" style operation intended to distract the American people from their country's many problems. Yet, he calls on Muslims to strike back as revenge for the "sheikh." "I say to the people of Libya in particular and the sons of the Ummah in general: Do not leave this criminal coward act to pass without punishment," Gadahn says in the video, "Teach the Crusaders a lesson they will not forget. Teach them that the lands of Islam are a red line and that there is no place in them for their soldiers, forces and bases." Gadahn continues: "Rise and have vengeance against America, the enemy of Islam and the Muslims, and restore to us the glory of Nairobi, Dar es Salam, Aden, New York, Washington, Fort Hood, Benghazi and Boston."
