At least forty-one people are dead and more than two hundred wounded in a massive apparent terrorist attack on Istanbul’s airport that involved three attackers armed with automatic or semi-automatic weapons and wearing suicide vests, all of whom blew themselves up. “The terrorists arrived at the airport in a taxi,” Prime Minister Binali Yildirim of Turkey said. “We will share more details about the attack later. There was no security lapse at the airport.”The attack began shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Turkish officials said, when two gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons at a security checkpoint outside Istanbul’s Ataturk airport, one of Europe’s busiest. They then detonated their explosives, setting off two fireballs. A third attacker set off explosives in the parking lot.
“There were blood splatters everywhere,” said Eylul Kaya, 37, sitting outside with her 1-year-old son. “I covered my boy’s eyes and we ran out.” As Turkey has faced several deadly terrorist attacks over the past year, Ms. Kaya said, she never thought she would find herself in the middle of one. “We’ve watched these attacks on TV for months, but I never imagined it would happen with so much security in an airport,” she said. Hitting at least three different targets at once using suicide bombers with automatic weapons is the "Al-Qaeda calling card" and ISIS used such a game plan in Paris France.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's Al Qaeda in Iraq is the mother-ship jihadi organization from which ISIS was spawned. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's Al Qaeda in Iraq was famous for suicide attacks using 3 suicide bombers and automatic weapons. Al-Qaeda's Abu Musab al-Zarqawi basically invented the 3 pronged terror attack using 3 suicide bombers and automatic weapons which al-Qaeda continued to use after his death June 7th, 2006, 10 years ago. On November 15th 2003, two truck bombs hit Istanbul’s Bet Israel and Neve Shalom Synagogues, killing 23 people and injuring 300 others. Five days later, two suicide vehicle bombs detonated at HSBC offices at the British Consulate, killing 30 and injuring 400. Members of an al-Qaeda cell were convicted for the attack.
