"Holly Mohamed" Herald Tribune Columnist Tom Lyons Gets it Right on Muslim Hate Ideology Killing Homosexuals Is Not ISIS Law It Is Muslim Law

I guess it took a bloody massacre in Orlando for far left liberal Herald Tribune Columnist Tom Lyons to come to his senses on Muslim Ideology. The ideology of Islamic State is based on Salafi-Jihadism, "a distinct ideological movement in Sunni Islam", according to Cole Bunzel of the Brookings Institution and Graeme Wood of The Atlantic. The Guardian defines the organization's ideology as "generally viewed as identical to al-Qaida’s or the Saudi version of Salafism – adherence to fundamental Islamic tenets, Killing Homosexuals Is Not ISIS Law It Is Muslim Law.

Lyons: Even after Orlando, unholy hatred spreads

In the aftermath of the slaughter at Pulse nightclub, the Australian government has banned a Muslim lecturer who spoke in Orlando during April and is known for creepy comments about what his religion requires for gay people. Sheikh Farrokh Sekaleshfar, who reportedly spoke at Orlando's Husseini Islamic Center in April, had also spoken there in 2013 and, more famously, at the University of Michigan that year, where he said Islamic law calls for execution of homosexuals. “Death is the sentence. There's nothing to be embarrassed about this,” Sekaleshfar was quoted as saying. “We have to have that compassion for people. With homosexuals, it's the same. Out of compassion, let's get rid of them now.” These Hitleresque words came from the speaker invited by many Islamic centers in America as a visiting scholar, a fact that has some at those centers doing damage control now.

“Please understand that the singular views of guest speakers do not represent those of the Husseini Islamic Center,” a spokesman in Orlando was quoted the day after the nightclub rampage. “We want to reiterate that nothing, absolutely nothing, can justify yesterday's atrocious actions.” Thanks so much for saying it isn't justified. But are you sure? Want to maybe double check some ancient writings? Of course, the disclaimer could be based on technicalities. Even Sekaleshfar is saying that killing of gay people is supposed to be done “lawfully,” with proper procedures, not carried out by just anyone with a gun. So there is that. Gotta do these things correctly.

The damage of such hateful nonsense is already done when an Islamic center showcases such a despicable messenger and then fails to condemn his atrocious words. That assures they will be taken as wisdom by some, especially by impressionable people who believe they are being taught about right and wrong by responsible Islamic community leaders.
