Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box appears to be shaking things up a little with the hiring of Glen W. Cook a former ATF Agent to investigate the unsolved murder case of Karen Swift. ATF is the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, I don't suppose that Sheriff Box hired high profile former ATF Resident Agent in Charge Glen W. Cook with 24 years of experience based in El Paso Texas to investigate Alcohol and Tobacco in the unsolved murder case of Karen Swift in Dyersburg TN, interesting the firearms angle. According to Glen Cook's Linkedin Page he was the Resident Agent in Charge at Bureau of Alcohol,Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives location El Paso Texas. According to a NY Times article, El-Paso Texas was the epicenter of gun running into Mexico for the drug cartels and the site of the infamous Fast and Furious incident, the NY Times article about El Paso Texas covered the years 2009 to 2011, see http://nypost.com/2013/12/01/book-excerpt-how-america-gave-guns-to-mexican-drug-cartels/

He said a number of people have recently come forward with new information and that the case is still active. In fact, he says a detective, Glen Cook, works the case every day and that the case is not considered cold, even though it is going on 5 years since Karen Swift was kidnapped and murdered after she went to the Dyersburg Country Club-The Farms Halloween party on Saturday October 29th, 2011. The next day, Sunday, she went ‘missing’ and ends up dead, her body found above ground in the weeds, near Bledsoe Cemetery on December 10th, 2011, she was not buried. Dyersburg is a city and the county seat of Dyer County, Tennessee, Dyersburg has a population of about 17,000 people, real small town atmosphere very "Sheriff Andy Taylor Mayberry-Esque".
