Usaamah Rahim, who was fatally shot after waving a military knife at law enforcement officers in Boston, was originally plotting to behead Pamela Geller, an activist and conservative blogger, law enforcement sources told CNN. But Rahim, a 26-year-old security guard who officials believe was radicalized by ISIS and other extremists, decided instead to target the “boys in blue,” a reference to police, according to court documents. “I can’t wait that long,” he said of the original beheading plan, according to an FBI affidavit filed in federal court in Boston. Pamela Geller drew national attention after an off-duty police officer working security thwarted an attack at her organization’s contest for Prophet Mohammed drawings in Garland, Texas. She’s president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, which includes subsidiary programs Stop Islamization of America and Stop Islamization of Nations.
FOX NEWS…August 4th, 2016 A North Carolina man who pledged allegiance to ISIS was arrested in Ohio for plotting terror attacks inside the U.S., including a thwarted rampage against a controversial cartoon contest in Garland TX, the Department of Justice announced Thursday August 4th, 2016. Erick Jamal Hendricks is charged with conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State, officials said in a statement. The 35-year-old — who used social media to find and vet “brothers” before coaxing them into joining his group — and organized the failed terror attack on bikini blogger Pamela Geller's 2015 Texas cartooning contest that encouraged participants to draw Muhammad, Islam’s chief prophet, officials said.
Hendricks, from Charlotte, told his followers that he planned to build a sleeper cell of terrorists inside the U.S. who could launch attacks on behalf of the Islamic State. He claimed to have about 10 fighters in his network. Days before the incendiary draw Muhammad cartoon contest, Hendricks contacted one of the two men who then attempted to storm bikini blogger Pamela Geller's event, investigators said. Hendricks used social media to discuss details of attacker Elton Simpson’s would-be raid on the “First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest” in Garland. He tried to arrange for another wannabe terrorist to help Simpson, investigators said — but that online recruit was an undercover FBI agent, officials said. In pre-attack talks, Hendricks ordered both men to target the contest’s organizer bikini blogger Pamela Geller.
"In March 2015, ISIS terrorist Wright drafted organizational documents for a 'Martyrdom Operations Cell' and conducted Internet search queries about firearms, the effectiveness of tranquilizers on human subjects and the establishment of secret militias in the United States. Simultaneously, Rahim was communicating with ISIL members overseas, including Junaid Hussain. On Aug. 24, 2015, Hussain was killed in an airstrike in Raqqah, Syria," according to a U.S. Attorney's Office news release. Rovinski, Wright and Rahim met on a local beach on May 31 2015 and had a conversation “in inclement weather” to discuss their plans, which apparently included a plan to behead bikini blogger Pamela Geller along with killing cops. According to a court complaint filed at the time of Wright's arrest last year for for his role in the alleged conspiracy, Rahim allegedly had bought knives on Amazon to carry out the beheading of bikini blogger Pamela Geller. The FBI has said that the beheading attack on bikini blogger Pamela Geller appeared to be imminent.
