Amid visible incidents of anti-Semitism across the Nation in recent months, federal authorities now believe the ongoing wave of bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers to be the work of a single person using voice-masking technology. Speaking to reporters at the St. Paul Jewish Community Center Wednesday March 15th, 2017 before a private meeting with area Jewish leaders, FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard Thornton said the same person is likely behind the bomb threats called in to the center last month and to the Sabes JCC in St. Louis Park in January. NYPD's John Miller Claims One Person Responsible for Jewish Community Center Bomb Threats That Started in Tampa Area and Spread Nationwide. Miller said the main culprit is a man who uses a voice changer to sound on the phone like he is a woman. He also uses voice over internet protocol and phone spoofing to make calls appear to be coming from a number at the Jewish center or school that is the subject of the threat. The man has "some technical prowess." A former reporter was arrested in St. Louis and accused of making some of the recent bomb threats against Jewish institutions. Juan Thompson, 31, was charged with one count of cyber stalking for allegedly making at least eight threats. The Tampa FBI office is the lead agency investigating the nationwide bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers as the bomb threats started in the Tampa area on January 4th. The ADL reports that since January 4th, 2017 the total number of bomb threats made to Jewish Community Centers is 165 in 38 states and 3 Canadian provinces through March 15th, 2017. The total number of institutions targeted is 119, see ADL list https://www.adl.org/news/article/bomb-threats-to-jewish-institutions-in-2017

Ex-Con Yousef al-Khattab, D.O.B. August 15, 1968, a former Rabbi who converted to Islam, made bomb threats to NYC Jewish Institutions at 770 Eastern Pkwy Brooklyn, NY and elsewhere. Yousef al-Khattab was released from Prison back to New York City in August 2016. Jewish Convert to Islam Yousef al-Khattab was Incarcerated for Threatening Jewish Groups on April 25th 2014. New Jersey resident Yousef al-Khattab, born Joseph Cohen, posted articles encouraging action against Jewish leaders, published their addresses. Al-Khattab admitted posting articles encouraging readers to take unspecified action against Jewish leaders and publishing names and addresses of Jewish leaders and synagogues. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Virgina, "al-Khattab posted a video on 2009 urging viewers to seek out leaders of Jewish Federation chapters in the U.S. and 'deal with them directly at their homes.' Al-Khattab gave the names and addresses of synagogues in New York and another Jewish organization in Brooklyn.
Yousef al-Khattab once posted of himself with his three sons, photo shopped onto the Jerusalem skyline, with the Dome of the Rock prominently in the background. Al-Khattab and each of his sons, Abdel Rahman, Abdel Aziz, and Abdullah Al-Khattab (who looks about eight years old), is holding an AK-47. Yousef al-Khattab born Joseph Cohen has 3 sons, the youngest son is Abdullah al-Khattab who would be 19 years old, he is on the far right in photo above. Al-Khattab strongly hinted that Muslims should take up that job for Allah and kill Jews themselves. This glorification of jihad mass murder of Jews is all the more chilling in light of the fact that Yousef al-Khattab is a convert to Islam from Judaism. Formerly Joseph Cohen, he lived in Orthodox communities in Brooklyn and Israel before violently rejecting his religion, culture, and heritage.
There here was a huge NYPD presence following bomb threats that were made against the Jewish community on Yousef Al-Khattab's blog revolutionmuslim.com "Do Not Let Orthodox Judaism Get Away From Murder in Ghaza" which featured the threat and video against the Jewish Orthodox Temple at 770 Eastern Pkwy Brooklyn, NY 11213, the threat was made on the website run by Yousef Al-Khattab, a New York City cab driver who operates the extremist Islamic anti-American Web site from Queens NY. Yousef Al-Khattab wrote in the lower left hand panel, see above, "Notice his Talis Bag (great place to Store Islamic Info.) translation = "Store Islamic Info means Store a Bomb".

Thursday October 31st, 2013..Yousef Mohamid Al-Khattab (a.k.a. Joseph Cohen) Leader Of "Revolution Muslim" Websites Pleads Guilty To Using Internet To Threaten Jewish Organizations. On January 8, 2009, Al-Khattab posted to the Revolution Muslim website a video encouraging viewers upset about the conflict in Gaza to seek out the leaders of Jewish Federation chapters in the U.S. (nationwide)and “deal with them directly at their homes.” Al-Khattab gave the names and addresses of synagogues in New York and another Jewish organization in Brooklyn. As acknowledged in the statement of facts, Al-Khattab knew that some viewers of the Revolution Muslim websites were inclined to violence, and by making the posts involving Jewish organizations in 2009, Al-Khattab was trying to frighten Jews and Jewish organizations.
Jewish Convert to Islam Yousef al-Khattab was incarcerated for threatening Jewish Groups on April 24th 2014 for 30 months. On June 22, 2012, Revolution Muslim founder Jesse Morton was sentenced to 138 months in prison. On February 24, 2011, Revolution Muslim administrator Zachary Chesser was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Co-conspirator Samir Khan fled to Yemen where it became known he was a Al-Qaeda core member, he and Anwar Al-Awlaki stated up the Al-Qaeda Inspire Online Magazine which taught would be terrorists how to make a bomb in your mother's kitchen. Anwar Al-Awlaki and Samir Khan were considered so dangerous that they were killed on September 30, 2011 during a DOD-CIA operation with a hellfire missile fired from a drone in Yemen. Yousef M. Khattab was released from prison in August 2016, the current bomb threats to Jewish community centers started on January 4th, 2017.
USA v Yousef M. Khattab
D.O.B. August 15, 1968,
Case No. 1:13-cr-418
GORDON KROMBERG ATTORNEY FOR USA: "Regardless of any regrets Yousef al-Khattab may have now, an impressionable person with Jewish grievances may search the Internet and find his rants and threats and solicitations from 2009 and may choose to act on them as a result, the victims of those threats and solicitations have to be aware of that until the end of time."

GORDON KROMBERG ATTORNEY FOR USA: Judge, I am not going to go over the facts of the case. I think the Court is well aware of them. It is amazing from the perspective of time to look back at the Revolution Muslim website and Yousef Khattab. In our pleading we listed, I forget, I think it was about 15 different cases, 15 different defendants in I think it was 14 different cases of individuals who are -- who engage in terrorism or attempted to engage in terrorism all were connected to the Revolution Muslim website. And it's impossible to say, obviously, whether Revolution Muslim inspired them to do it or they were going to do it anyway , and that's why they were friends or associates of Revolution Muslim. But it still is quite a striking statistic when Yousef Khattab's aim was to inspire Muslims to engage in terrorism. He succeeded. Now, it is true that Yousef Khattab was not significantly involved in the day-to-day operations of Revolution Muslim after 2009. And it's true that he was not personally involved in the particular threats of solicitations to kill that Jesse Curtis Morton and Zachary Chesser were involved in. And it's also true that Mr. Khattab has publicly admitted the error of at least some of his earlier conduct. And it's for these reasons that we have never sought a sentence anywhere close to what Mr. Morton and Mr. Chesser. But at the same time, it cannot be denied that his actions set in motion a sequence of events that later in the hands of Morton, Chesser, and Samir Khan spiraled into even more serious criminal activity.
Yousef Khattab's outrageous postings were the first, they predated that of Morton and Chesser. And they even predated that of Samir Khan, who later went on to bigger fame with Al-Qaeda's Inspire magazine until he got killed by the CIA Drone. In short, the fact that Morton, Chesser, and Samir Khan pushed the envelope of murder solicitation on the Internet as far as they did is likely attributable to the fact that they started from where he stopped. And the people who were inspired by Morton, Chesser, and Samir Khan, some of whom we know and some of whom I suppose we'll never know who were inspired by him, he gets credit for that too when it comes time to fashioning a sentence because he started it, and Morton, and Chesser, and Samir Khan went farther than he did. And that all should be considered in fashioning an appropriate sentence. Mr. al-Khattab may regret his actions today, and we hope he is sincere about it, but those messages are still out there and they are going to be out there forever. Regardless of any regrets he may have now, an impressionable person with grievances may search the Internet and find his rants and threats and solicitations from 2009 and may choose to act on them. And as a result, the victims of those threats and solicitations have to be aware of that until the end of time. All of us live in a world that was changed for the worse by what he did. A substantial sentence is necessary under the 3553 Guidelines given the facts of the case and the length of time you were involved in this behavior, and the harm caused, and the danger that you caused to members of the Brooklyn community, and the fear, very reasonable fear, especially as to the Chabad synagogue in Crown Heights NY.
Jewish Convert to Islam Yousef al-Khattab was Incarcerated for Threatening Jewish Groups on April 24th, 2014. Yousef al-Khattab was released on August 2nd, 2016 and returned to New York City, he will be on Federal Felony probation for 3 years up until August of 2019. Yousef al-Khattab was given back his passport and will be allowed by Federal court order to travel to Morocco to see his wife and children, this was approved in February 2017.
